Within the first year of existing Amethyst has released on both incredible labels - Holy Geometry and Male Activity. Now he presents us his fourth release, “Catharsis”.

Produced and recorded in total uncertainty of the future. Jonathan Bergen is now presenting his latest composition. Catharis is a journey deep into the emotional feeling of the artist which is separetatd into two pieces that merge the development of the physical and the mental layer in a periode of inner release, retain and grows. The albums opens up with the harsher side of Amethyst. The caustic battle of noise and surroundings, desperate to over power the calm, delicate textures. You are in the eye of the storm.
The second piece shows to more intricate side. A carefully constructed ambience that carries the weight of the world finally overcomes the harshness.

Jonathan Bergen's project Amethyst can be described as a lovechild of ambient, drone and noise. Layers upon layers of audio fragments, ranging from sampled soundscapes to gritty and gnawing synth noise walls, are woven into one another in a meditative manner.
